For Candidates
The Agency Workers Directive
As of 1st October 2011 a new legislation came into force giving agency workers the entitlement to the same basic employment and working conditions as if they had been recruited directly, if and when they complete a qualifying period of 12 weeks in the same job.
It also stipulates that from Day 1 Agency Workers have the same rights to facilities such as canteen, childcare facilities, car parking etc. and also can access information regarding job vacancies.
This equal treatment relates to pay and other basic working conditions such as annual leave and rest breaks. After the 12 week qualifying period pregnant workers will now be allowed to take paid time off for ante natal appointments during an assignment.
As an agency we can assure you that we are fully aware of this Directive. If you are a temporary worker working under a Contract for Services with KES Solutions, we will work closely with our clients to ensure you receive every entitlement required.
